Psalm 38, Waiting for the Answers

Key Verse

But it is for you, O Lord, that I wait;
it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.

RCL Daily Devotions written by Daniel D. Maurer from RCL Worship Resources (see more).

Waiting has never been easy for any of the members of my family. Honestly, I’m probably the worst out of any of them.

Make me wait in line in any store or wait for a phone call I need to get, and watch me get fidgety and anxious.

Certainly, it’s a problem also in our culture which has grown to expect everything right now, instantly.

The silence of waiting for God’s answers to the questions we have in life is MEANT, however, to take a long time, because we are MEANT to live a journey of discovery to live in relationship with the One who created us.

Is waiting difficult for you? Is it any harder waiting on God’s answers to the questions you pose?
