I discovered very quickly the power of a lie when I was a child. I also soon found out that if the lie wasn’t believable enough, I would be caught in that lie and it would make it worse than simply telling the truth!

It’s very easy to turn most of the Bible into a book of morality, and certainly some of it really is just that. However, the Bible goes beyond morality in that it looks at the roots of where the sin begin in the first place.

In doing so, the Word encourages us to move forward in our lives in grace. Honesty comes at a price, and that price is that we accept that making a mistake or being a failure is okay. Grace deals with shame itself; morality only looks at the issue from one side.

What are your thoughts on shame? On honesty? How can you become more honest in your life?
