RCL Daily Devotions written by Daniel D. Maurer from RCL Worship Resources (see more).
Thought for today . . .
If God was the one who created all there is, and God created us to be in relationship with each other, with our world, and with God, then why do so many people find it difficult to understand each other (much less live peacefully with others)?
Some might say that it our sin, or at least our unwillingness to let others be. Others might say that it’s in the nature of humankind to want to dominate others.
This week, try to pick out someone with whom you probably would not have a relationship or even an acquaintance. Then, ask yourself what struggles and joys that person finds in their life.
Sometimes the best we can do is begin to see that the Spirit of Wisdom has been planted in each of us.
God, grant me openness this week to see your face in others’ lives. Amen.
