RCL Daily Devotions written by Stefanie K. Fauth from RCL Worship Resources (see more).
How many times has the world been predicted to end?
I can’t even count…though I do remember the Y2K panic vividly! I was a teenager, and I had never been through a worldwide hysteria before.
I was quite sure that we needed to be worried - but my mother was able to calm me down.
She pointed out that she had lived through the supposed “end of the world” many times. That helped a little.
What helped more was the words Jesus spoke - it’s not for us to know.
There will be an end, but lucky for us, it shall be a surprise!
For me, that is a huge comfort. Live for today - but also live like there won’t be a tomorrow.
As my kindergartner would say - “Make good choices.”
Was there ever a time you were worried the world would end? How did you get through your fear?
